Welcome Shep Joseph Taylor

I decided to be induced at 39 weeks so we shipped Lettie off to grandma and grandpa Taylor's. Isaac and I went out to dinner at Baxters for one last quiet dinner along before we became a family of four! We then headed into the hospital at midnight. Pitocin was started and Dr. Dameron came in around 6:30 AM, I was still only 1-2 cm dilated, and she broke my water. I labored for a while on my own and late morning I decided to go ahead with an epidural. I was only 4 cm at this point and was feeling really discouraged. Shortly after 1 PM I repositioned my self sitting up straight in bed. Shortly after that I started feeling some pressure so I hit the RN light to be checked and I was 8 cm! She decided to lay me down on my left side and I just kept feeling contraction after contraction and an immense amount of pressure. She check me again and I was complete, 10 cm!! She had just called Dameron with the 8 cm update and was instructed to start pushing when I was complete! The RN immediately called doctor back and told her she needed to head on in for delivery. I was instructed not to push because baby was so low and they wanted Dameron to make it for delivery! To this day I am not sure how many minutes went by that I was told repeatedly to "just breath through the contractions, don't push." Well let me tell you how NOT easy that is!! In my head I was thinking, "I'm just going to push, I'm just going to push and someone is going to have to just catch this baby!" Nonetheless Dameron got there and just a few pushes later Shep Joseph Taylor was born at 1:58 PM weighing
8lb 3 oz and 21 in long!

**I did learn later that my 8 cm cervical exam occurred at 1:30 PM & I delivered 28 minutes later!**

Watching Lettie meet Shep for the first time is something that I will never forget! She is such a good big sister and honestly maybe loves him a little toooo much!

I was not as religious taking belly pics as I was with Lettie girl but I think I ended up doing pretty well! Second child problems...

This picture was taken the night we went into the hospital to be induced! Look at that belly!
